Newegg Now Accepts Bitcoin

Keep the good times rolling.

The move follows on the heels of several other large businesses moving to accept bitcoin payments: OverstockDish and Expedia have all come aboard in recent months, expanding the options for where bitcoin users can spend their money, and further legitimizing the currency.

Apple's CarPlay Coming to Nine New Automakers' Vehicles

The Verge:

Nine new automakers have committed to supporting Apple's CarPlay in future models of their vehicles. Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Mazda, and Ram are joining the existing 20 companies that have already announced their plans to integrate CarPlay, Apple's iOS-powered dashboard for vehicles.

Since I've only had my car for a little more than a year, I'm most interested in seeing the aftermarket set-ups from Pioneer and others..

Bitcoin in 10 Years: 4 Predictions From SecondMarket's Barry Silbert

Barry Silbert is more optimistic than most about the future of Bitcoin. Here's my favourite prediction of Silbert's:

1. Bitcoin will enable Facebook to provide remittance, banking and person-to-person money transfer services to its users.
Rumors that Facebook wants in on the e-payments game at home and overseas are making the rounds, but the billion-member social media mammoth has yet to confirm a single one of them.
Silbert told us that because of Bitcoin and other cyber currencies, Facebook will become a go-to platform for moving money from person-to-person, domestically and across borders. He also thinks it will also provide a host of basic banking services utilizing the Bitcoin currency and protocol.

That would be huge for Bitcoin's growth.

California Bill Legalizes Digital Currencies Like Bitcoin

The good news for Bitcoin is mounting. I have a feeling we're going to see a significant increase in both adoption and value over the next 12 months.

Watch: Great Video on Bitcoin

The reason for the Bloomberg report is the U.S. government is going to start auctioning off the Bitcoin they seized from Silk Road. But really, the video turns more into a general Bitcoin discussion between Barry Silbert and Matt Miller. It's pretty informative and shows what they think the future of Bitcoin could be.

North Korea Declares New Seth Rogen Movie an 'Act of War'

You gotta read some of the quotes in this article. Government representatives of North Korea have some pretty wild things to say. Here's a taste:

"A film about the assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what the US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine," he added. "And let us not forget who killed [President John F.] Kennedy – Americans. In fact, President [Barack] Obama should be careful in case the US military wants to kill him as well."

They also call Rogen a "gangster filmmaker" and some other funny stuff.

Reuters 'Tries to Prove' They Have Their Heads Up Their Asses

Go get 'em Gruber. I couldn't agree more. Really? Apple trying to "prove" they can innovate against Samsung. That's actually pretty funny.

Amazon Unveils the Fire Phone Today

I find the Firefly feature interesting and the unlimited cloud photo storage seems like a real winner. I really wish Apple would do that. It's just such a great selling feature for a phone.

Bezos seems pretty confident in how good the camera is. We'll have to see how it stacks up.

Looks like it won't be available in Canada, at least not initially.

Volkswagen - Eyes on the Road

This has been making the rounds for about 10 days, but it's a pretty good PSA about using your mobile phone while driving.
